Winner of the title South Asian Chef of the Year in 2009, Chef Siddartha Singh Rathore was raised in Jaipur, India, Chef Rathore gained a bachelor’s degree in Bangalore before commencing his culinary training in the country’s first 5* resort.
Continuing his career in a 5* hotel establishment near New Delhi. Chef Siddartha first teamed up with Chef Anand George in 2001 in Rajasthan. In a story similar to that of Chef George, he relocated to London in 2005 to further develop his culinary skills.
Siddartha spent three years as Head Chef of two restaurants in the Capital, before moving to Cardiff to join Chef Anand George as Speciality Chef at Mint & Mustard Restaurant.
Following Chef Anand George’s departure to establish his own venture Purple Poppadom, in 2011, Chef Siddartha left in August 2012 to join his old friend and colleague as Head Chef of Purple Poppadom.
His arrival completed the reuniting at Purple Poppadom of the entire 10-strong team who worked with Chef George at his previous establishment in the city.
In his new role Chef Siddartha is also a key member of the restaurant management team.
