Gopi Will Soon Celebrate His First Anniversary at PP!

To our many guests with whom he is very popular, it seems like Gopi, our Assistant Restaurant Manager has been with us forever, such is his ever-smiling presence, but he has been a part of Purple Poppadom for just under a year.

Like the majority of our team, Gopi, our Assistant Restaurant Manager calls on a five star hotel background.  Gopi, who hails from Tamil Nadu, began his career in hospitality in 2002 after completing a Bachelor degree in Hotel Management at  Bharathidasan University.

Gopi, who was originally inspired to enter our profession by his cousin, then went on to train in various leading hotels in India, developing practical hospitality management skills.

In 2011 Gopi moved to London where he worked in a vegetarian restaurant before his big move to join us here at Purple Poppadom in October 2012. Gopi told us that he  prefers living in Cardiff to London.

As well as working in the restaurant, he also helps to manage our outside catering assignments, including private dinner parties as well as larger functions where Purple Poppadom cuisine is requested.

Of his role Gopi said: “I am really happy here and being part of a team that gets along very well together.  I am really enjoying this new style of Indian restaurant which Purple Poppadom represents.”

Raman Bijalwan, Purple Poppadom General Manager said: “Gopi is not only a hard working professional who has quickly picked up the PP culture, he is also a popular member of the team and amongst our guests as well.  We are very happy to have him on board with us.”
