Yahoo Lifestyle reviewed over 50 restaurants in its report “Indian Cuisine in the UK,” and Purple Poppadom was chosen in a select top five of restaurants in London and UK.

Chef Anand George of Purple Poppadom said:  “We are so pleased that our introduction of the concept of Nouvelle Indian Cuisine is finding friends for us in Cardiff and Wales and now wider afield.  We are committed to continual innovation and accolades like this gives us even more motivation to keep moving our creativity forward.”

In selecting us, reviewer James Lawrence writes on the Yahoo Lifestyle report:

“The Purple Poppadom was voted Welsh Curry House of the year 2012, a well deserved accolade for the restaurant, judging by my recent visit. Although it is to be found in the most unlikely of locations – above a shop, outside central Cardiff – the superb food, surroundings and friendly staff more than compensated. Chef Anand George proudly totes himself as a guru of ‘Nouvelle Indian cuisine’. Don’t worry, he won’t serve you tiny, bitty portions but rather exquisitely refined food that will make you sing. You’re in Wales, so why not?”

    • Review via Tripadvisor by DenisinWales on 26th September 2018 1st despite the very long sign board covering 2 store fronts, the entrance is a tiny door at the far left. Once you climb to the 1st floor, you are greeted with a very understated and tasteful restaurant seating about 60-70 people. For a Tuesday night

    • Review by Ellym106, TripAdvisor, April 2018 We had an excellent meal here. We visited India in November and know how the food is supposed to be – and this is it!
