Raman is a Director of Purple Poppadom and General Manager of the restaurant, and as such is in charge of front of house and service. Raman’s fine dining and hospitality industry credentials are impeccable.
He joins us from Mint & Mustard restaurant in Cardiff where he worked alongside Chef Anand George for three and half years, before leaving to establish Purple Poppadom and taking a leading role in our management.
The two first met when Raman was the manager of a hotel in Oxford and Anand was honing his skills at leading Indian restaurants in London. Raman joined Anand at Mint & Mustard, on the very day that Chef won the prestigious Tiffin Cup at the House of Commons!
A consummate professional and gracious host, Raman trained at Hotel Management College and started his career at the Hyatt Regency in Delhi, progressing upwards in rank at the Grand Intercontinental in the capital city of India.
Then followed a move to the UK working at an Italian restaurant chain in Scotland before his journeying England and eventually making his home here in Wales and his new top role at Purple Poppadom.
