What People Say
One of Cardiff’s best Indian restaurants, the food was really tasty and well presented. We were a large party and everyone enjoyed their meals. Extensive menu with plenty of veggie options. The new contemporary interior brings a nice ambience to the space.
‘Best Indian Food, Look No Further: Went to this restaurant following a good feedback on internet. I must say I found a gem indeed. The food was absolutely delicious. Ordered Malabar Fish Curry, Malabar Prawns Biryani, Garlic Naan, and a desert which was named after Chef Anand I believe. All of the dishes were so amazing, it won’t be wrong to say even better than some of the Michelin star restaurants dishes I have tried. The staff was very friendly. We’re served by Mr. Pradeep and his team who were very attentive and quick. I am in Cardiff on a tour for couple of days and wish to possibly have my every meal in this restaurant until I am here, to that extent I loved it. I am staying in Cardiff city center and it was a 30 min walk to get to the restaurant. The entrance of the restaurant isn’t very impressive but don’t let it stop you from having such a scrumptious food. The ambience is nice though.’
“Takeaway takes our breath away”
We have eaten here a few time and had a few takeaways during lockdown but never left a review. Our latest takeaway was the Valentine’s Day special. It was stunning, every dish was beautifully thought out and wonderfully flavoured, the addition of the chocolate brownie dessert was really lovely too.
The food is always amazing, yo do pay more than a usual takeaway or meal but this is NOT usual, if you haven’t tried it, do it! The winter takeaway deal is of brilliant value and gives a unique taste experience.
‘We have eaten at Purple Poppadom before and loved it. During the lockdown, they are of course only available to do takeaway which we tried last night and were not disappointed. From the first mouthful it was clear this was not just another Indian takeaway: absolutely delicious food, and with 20% discount for collection, not too expensive. Very good portion sizes too: lunch today is sorted as well!’
‘Trailblazing a path for ‘nouvelle Indian’ cuisine, chef and author Anand George adds his own twist to dishes from all over the subcontinent – from Kashmir to Kerala. Thankfully, the emphasis is on the perfection of tried-and-tested regional delights rather than anything unnecessarily wacky.’
@purple_poppadom smashing it out of the park. Best Indian restaurant in #Cardiff no contest
In his words, the chicken tandoori was ‘next level’! We all loved it. Diolch yn fawr!
So I think @Purple_poppadom might just be the best #IndianTakeaway I’ve had!
“I love all curries as it’s as if the angels are dancing on our tongue…”
‘Purple Poppadom is probably already Cardiff’s most acclaimed Indian restaurant before even picking up its latest accolade.’
‘We recently had a little celebration at Purple Poppadom. The food was delicious. The food was great, full of flavour and well presented. We had no complaints, everything was superb.’
