BEAUJOLAIS NOUVEAU SPECIAL MENU – 15TH NOVEMBER

We are serving a very special taster menu on the evening of November 15th to celebrate Beaujolais Nouveau Day at Purple Poppadom.  The menu is available all evening on the 15th and we anticipate great interest in the new one night only menu, so please book early to avoid disappointment.

Priced at just £29.95 per person for a minimum of two persons, the taster menu naturally includes a glass of Beaujolais Nouveau.

Chef has introduced a number of new and interesting dishes for our guests to explore providing a one-night only opportunity to sample Anand George’s latest innovations.

We are especially intrigued by the addition of goat to the menu, an ingredient which Anand first discussed with our good friend Carol Adams (@babettesffest) at food festivals, who encouraged Chef to explore its possibilities.  Chef has named his new dish in her honour!  It is also fitting that Head Chef Siddartha comes from Rajasthan where this style of dish is popular.

TASTING MENU

 – STARTERS –

Puri en bouche

Dainty pop-in-the mouth semolina pastry, accompanied by a tangy tamarind and mint water in a shot glass

Kalamari D’or  

Golden crispy battered Squid, deep fried and served on salad leaves, passion  fruit and chilli dressing

Poulet au Malai 

Tender Chicken thigh deftly marinated with yoghurt and spices and flavoured with star anise

– MAINS

Chèvre Rajasthani Babette

Laal Maas – a classic dish of slow cooked leg of goat with garlic and spices, smoked with cloves and red chilli. Inspired by our Head Chef Siddartha with encouragement from our friend Carol Adams (@babettesffest)

Murg Awadhi Pavot

A Lucknowi specialty – chicken delicately simmered in a rich sauce of melon, poppy seeds, cashew nuts and fragrant spices

Aloo Pondicherry

From the former French colony of Pondicherry, baby potatoes gently tossed with mustard, coconut and curry leaves

Steamed Basmati Rice
