On Wednesday 28 January, Purple Poppadom is celebrating International LEGO Day with a playful, family-friendly twist — and we’re inviting our guests to take part.
International LEGO Day marks the moment in 1958 when Godtfred Kirk Christiansen filed the patent in Denmark for the modern, clutch-powered LEGO brick — a design that remains compatible today and continues to inspire creativity and play.
To mark the occasion, we’ve created a miniature Purple Poppadom restaurant scene, complete with a table set for service. Guests are encouraged to bring along their own LEGO minifigures and place them into our tiny dining room — whether they’re chefs, diners, explorers, superheroes, or characters entirely of their own imagination.

Throughout the day, our miniature guests will be “hard at work” in the kitchen, overseeing service, and enjoying the smallest naan breads we’ve ever created.
It’s a light-hearted, semi-fantasy concept designed to spark smiles, conversations, and creativity — all alongside our usual Purple Poppadom dining experience.
International LEGO Day is a celebration of creativity and imagination, values we share deeply in our kitchen and our approach to hospitality. This fun in-restaurant moment is suitable for all ages and designed to add an extra layer of enjoyment to your visit.

There’s no special menu, no booking changes, and no pressure — just great food, great company, and a playful nod to one of the world’s most loved creative icons.
