JOY AS PP MAKES THE GOOD FOOD GUIDE!

Everyone at Purple Poppadom is overjoyed with the announcement that we have been included in this year’s edition of the Waitrose Good Food Guide!

Welcoming the great news, Chef Anand George, founder and Chef Patron of Purple Poppadom said:

“This is a magnificent achievement for everyone at Purple Poppadom.  To be recommended in this well respected guide to the top restaurants in the UK in just under two years since opening is magnificent.  We wanted to bring something different to Indian restaurants in Cardiff and we are so pleased we are so popular.

I would like to thank our guests who are so loyally supporting us on our journey of creating innovative Nouvelle Indian Cuisine in Cardiff. I would like to thank everyone in Wales for their support.”

Quoted in the Western Mail today, Abergavenny Food Festival director Martin Orbach said: “New places are appearing and a new generation are appearing and taking over,”

Talking about Chef Anand George and Purple Poppadom, he said:

“He is looking to be a top end chef and his ingredients are very well sourced,” Martin said.

“His presentation is beautiful. he is trying a modern interpretation of Indian food.

“It is not the cod-Indian food that you normally have in restaurants but things that are more authentic in a modern way. He has won lots of awards.”

The starter of aloo chaat was incredible. The staff were really friendly and the service was great. I am looking forward to going back

The portions are smaller than normal but the food is perfectly cooked. The service was also excellent and quick. They have adequate professional number of staff who were always nearby to attend
