Our award winning ‘Tiffin Cup Hake’ is now on the menu

Kappa MeenFollowing the exciting news that we were named the best South Asian restaurant in Britain winning the Tiffin Cup 2014 at the House of Commons we have now added the winning dish to our menu.

Anand George was one of twelve chefs from all over the UK taking part in the final cook-off at the House of Commons. Judges included TV chef Ainsley Harriott and former Eastenders actress Nina Wadia.

The winning ‘Tiffin Cup Hake’ from Anand George is a pan-seared hake served on a bed of tapioca mash soused in roasted coconut and kodampuli – smoked tamarind sauce, topped with a broccoli crisp and a shallot and red chilli chutney.

Guests can enjoy this new dish and select as a starter on our a la carte menu or as part of our stunning Chefs taster menu.

This is the second Tiffin Cup win for Chef George as he won back in 2008 dish with his Tiffin Seabass, also inspired by his culinary roots in Kerala, Southern India, quickly became a signature dish for Anand George and has remained a firm favourite in the restaurant ever since.

The portions are smaller than normal but the food is perfectly cooked. The service was also excellent and quick. They have adequate professional number of staff who were always nearby to attend
