Purple Poppadom is not a curry house. It is fine dining in an Indu Cymru style. That may sound pretentious but the food speaks for itself. Standout dish on our visit was the venison- three pieces each with a different explosion of delicate spices.
The location is not the most appealing part of town, and there is no ‘shopfront’, merely a door to some stairs. At the top of the stairs the single dining room is simple but stylish. Service is attentive and informative. This is a busy restaurant, but on our visit there were no delays. Prices were not ruinous for such exquisite food. If this restaurant was in a location with more space and perhaps a view it would be knockout. As it is, how can we go back to ordinary curry now?
