Believed to be one of the first occasions in the club’s 147 year history, that an external chef has been invited to cook for members, Anand George will be presenting a dinner showcasing his innovative Nouvelle Indian Cuisine style of cooking.
Last month Purple Poppadom was named best Indian restaurant in the South Wales Echo Food & Drink Awards 2013 and is the current holder of the Welsh Curry House of the Year title.
Kerala-born Chef George, who has been Cardiff-based since 2007, said: “I am very pleased to be bringing my style of cooking to such a prestigious and historic establishment that has always been renowned for the very high standard of cuisine served to members.
I will be combining Nouvelle Indian Cuisine for the starter course with more traditional Kerala-style curries for the mains. I hope the Cardiff and County Club diners will enjoy our evening of cuisine.”
