In the space of just one week, Purple Poppadom has picked up two major restaurant awards on a national scale – in the form of an Observer Food Monthly Award and a Trip Advisor Traveller’s Choice Award.

Our latest glittering prizes first arrived by being named Runners-up in the influential Observer Food Monthly Awards. 

In their judgement, the Observer judges said of us: “Chef Anand George takes traditional recipes from across India and gives them a contemporary twist for Wales. Expect dishes that may be less familiar – Alleppey prawn curry with raw mango, ginger and coconut sauce, perhaps – alongside his tasting menu, which could include a Syrian-Christian take on duck.”

Meanwhile, fast on the heels of this wonderful accolade, Purple Poppadom has now made it into the top 10% of restaurants worldwide!

Trip Advisor has awarded us their Travellers’ Choice Award, which celebrates restaurants that consistently deliver amazing experiences.  The views and feedback of our customers means everything to us, so this accolade is praise indeed.
